80th Anniversary of VE Day

11th of May, 2025

The Councillors at Barnacre-with-Bonds Parish council attended several services for the VE Day celebrations in and around Barnacre-with-Bonds on the 8th of May 2025.

  1. Councillor Fennell, Chair at Barnacre-with-Bonds Parish Council attended the flag raising at The Garstang and Bonds War Memorial in Garstang. 
  2. Councillors Howell and Reilly attended a flag service in Calder Vale.
  3. Councillors Fennell, Howell and Reilly all attended the service at Kepple Lane Park for the raising of the VE Day Flag, the VE Day 80th proclamation by the Town Cryer with readings and prayers. The photograph is Councillor Fennell doing a reading at the service held at Kepple Lane Park for the raising of the VE Day Flag.
  4. Councillors Fennell, Howell and Reilly all attended the five minute bell ringing at 6.30pm at various churches in and around Barnacre-with-Bonds.
  5. Councillor Fennell attended the VE Day 80th Anniversary Beacon Lighting in Cherestanc Square, Garstang.
